Hummingbird

"His goal in life was to be an echo
The type of sound that floats around and then back down
Like a feather
But in the deep chrome canyons of the loudest Manhattans
No one could hear him
Or anything

So he slept on a mountain
In a sleeping bag underneath the stars
He would lie awake and count them
And the gray fountain spray of the great Milky Way
Would never let him
Die alone

Remember to remember me
Standing still in your past
Floating fast like a hummingbird"

"There are good ships, there are bad ships, but the best ships are friendships."

Haha. I had this ridiculous dream a couple of nights ago that I was just reminded of. When I went to the Presidential Scholarship dinner at Otterbein, they give me this leather thing ['cause I really don't know what one would call such a... folder/notebook/....thing] with a calculator, pad of paper, and Otterbein pen. In my dream, this leather thing contained some document that's existence pretty much determined my fate. I was looking around for it frantically and couldn't find it. Today I was looking through the book stack next to my bed and I stumbled across this thing. I guess I had forgotten it was a dream because I got really excited about it, only to open it and remember it's slim and unnecessary contents. I guess it was just funny. All that rejoicing for an Otterbein pen. Well, it was free...

Off to fill my tank and attend the CT block party!

No more high school for me

My mom is downstairs watching my slideshow dvd that she made. I guess she had trouble with the audio? But since I have a dvd burner on Ivan, she used her computer as an external hard drive for mine and in the end it all worked out. Anyway, I guess she's checking for gliches, then I will watch it with her, dad, and chris. I don't feel like being emotional. Plus, there are probably a lot of embarrasing pictures accompanied by sad music. That's how they usually go, right? Haha, doh. I am a little excited though.

Remember, my party is after graduation June 4th, from 6-10. I bet a lot of peoples are then so it's okay if you can't make it or can only drop by. I'll be at my house all night. Ask me for directions.

"When you're happy, everywhere is New York."

Eeeek gotta go watch this thing...

Funding for Tech Prep at CSCC

Pic updates always seem to come in two? I mean, I might as well show you more pictures while I'm taking some time to get them on here, right?

Jeremy and Jordan lookin' at something. Probably something decently cool.

Up close and personal with the chain.

Mashel and her pretzel. I'm pretty sure it was a really good pretzel so I'm not sure what she's disgruntled with.

Jordan hiding in his massively large hoodie. Or maybe he doesn't have legs. Perhaps he's very short?

Shelley, Austin, and Mashel waiting for the bell in Web. We do this a lot. Unless we're trying to salvage a project last minute.

That's pretty much it. Right now I'm listening to Gwen Stafani claiming she's no hollaback girl. She's b-a-n-a-n-a-s.

Tomorrow is the last day of high school (minus going in next week to finish my Web final...) so I'll have crazy cool pictures of my amazing amigos. I already have some of Jared pushing around the trashcan. Who gets in trouble their last day of school? Apparently him.

Okay. Going to go tend to the laundry.

Chris came home this weekend with Cara to see Kenny Chesney. Yes, we are related. Although not a fan of Mr. Chesney, I'm outrageously a fan of my brother's ensemble this day. I'm happy that he'll be home soon. I want to know him more.

Baby, I can't help but be scared by it all sometimes

Probably not going to LT. Will you promise to show me your photos if I don't? All of you?

Something wicked this way comes!

I just saw the Harry Potter Goblet of Fire trailer. I wonder if I'll make it until then or if I'll explode from anticipation.

Kelley Treer if you can see this call me somehow. I saw that you called and listened to your voicemail of silence (there wasn't anything?) Then I called your cell and your house both of which aren't connected.

This is from when Mashel and Austin (with drawing help from Marcus) decorated my room while I was at Cross Trainers this previous Sunday. It was beauuutiful!

Mashel made me a bookshelf with some great reads.

They are beyond awesome.

Oh and sorry for the weird sized photos, I didn't feel like doing them over. I probably should because it's not often that I pic update but there are other things to do... like math.

Here it is brotha-man

Well Jon asked to see it so here it is! Nothing big, just some random placement I s'pose.

a relational dynamic

Besides his train of thought being quite similar to mine, I'm drawn to read Miller because he write this thought process. It makes sense, not jumbled half-finished thoughts, but I relate to how he conveys everything. His humor is how mine would be if I were funny. (?) It's simple and enjoyable, yet leaves me with plenty to consider. He adds things that don't need to be there but add imagery, and it makes the people he's discussing seem real, not just sunday school bible characters. I soak up truth I can read in story fashion. Don't be anti about my Sir Don Miller reading spree! Now I'm reading Searching for God Knows What. Here are some of them in no particular order. Hopefully they won't make sense to you so you'll have to read the book to understand.

"I was pleased to discover that the God of Scripture is much larger than this. Everybody who met God in the Bible was afraid of Him. People were afraid of even the angels, so the angels always had to calm people down just to have a conversation. I would think that would be very annoying if you were an angel, always having to settle people down just to talk. It makes you wonder if the first thousand years in heaven will have us running around screaming like we would during an earthquake, the whole time God saying to us in an enourmous, booming voice, Calm down, calm down, will you, it's just Me."

"When you read the book you start realizing that people who were very close to John read this essay and got to the end and started crying because John was telling them he was going to leave, and then I'll bet at his funeral everybody was standing around thinking about how John knew he was going to die and told them in his book. And I'll bet they sat around that night at somebody's house, and somebody who had a very good reading voice lit a candle, and they all lay on the floor and sat on pillows. The children sat quietly and the man with the voice read through the book, from beginning to end, and they thought together about Jesus as the man read John's book, and when it came to the end where John says he is going to die, the person who was readin got choked up and started to cry. Somebody else, maybe John's wife or one of his daughters, had to go over and read the end of it, and when she was finished they sat around for a long time and some of the people probably stayed the night so the house wouldn't feel empty. It makes you want to live in a community like that when you thinking about the way things were when Jesus had touched people."

"It makes you wonder if guys like John the Evangelist and Paul and Moses wouldn't look at our systematic theology charts, our lists and mathematical formulas, and scratch their heads to say, Well, it's technically true; it just isn't meaningful."

Hmm, too bad I can't quote the majority of the book.

Anyway, no Mae so I'll just do something "Mae-oriented" thanks to Michelle. Hopefullly she's still up for that. Please dial my number and sing me Mae. That's sort of like a concert.

Best smile? I'm honored! Really, I'm surprised anyone voted for me and now I'm curious as to how this happened. It really is fun though. Kentucky got it too so we took a picture during government.

Well I'm going to go read and finish up some work so I hope you have an amazing Thursday! Tomorrow is Friday, guys! (Weekend.....!)

Woah. I forgot I was "working" Saturday and making money. Awesome. ( Not at the store, at a dress rehearsal )

Bye

blast

Very disapointed right now. Drove to get tickets to Mae show this Friday at Little Brother's, the guy said it was 18 & over, I said, "well, Little Brother's is generally 18 & over, but last year I saw Mae and Copeland there and it was all ages" So he called Little Brother's.

It's 18 & over.

I turn 18 three days after. three days

If you know me at all, I don't need to explain how disapointed I am.

....

[edit] Talked to Alex tonight, she said the Cursive show was supposed to be eighteen and over but it wasn't enforced. This could be good, this could be real good. Hey, I look so eighteen, right?!?!

Web was easier today...

MAE on Friday with numero uno concert buddy Emily Scott and Godspell on Saturday con Jazmin. Is this weekend going to be a fiesta or what. I should probably make guacamole and break the pinata that's been in my basement since like second grade...
